Summary

A Neolithic flint end scraper was found at this location in 2000. A fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field in 2008 recovered a small number of objects including a medieval roof tile, a medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd and a fragment of post-medieval clay tobacco pipe.

Full description

March-April 2000. Fieldwalking.
Found on 'Mile Hill', close to NHER 6567, opposite road junction, Tithe map field 90.
1 ?Neolithic flint scraper (incomplete) distal tip of flake of greyish buff translucent flint with incipient patina. Trimmed to form rounded end scraper.

March-April 2008. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey. Extended to whole field [1].
Field survey on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection (Field 25).
Finds recovered included:
1 medieval roof tile.
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd.
1 post-medieval clay tobacco pipe fragment.
