Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow survives as an earthwork mound. Neolithic or Bronze Age flint flakes and a flint arrowhead have been found on the barrow.

Full description

Tumulus, very irregular near spot height 292 on south edge heath.
Covered by bushes and bracken; many rabbit burrows.
23m (26yds) diameter, 91cm (3') high.
Bowl barrow.

John Nicholls reports barrow now as having a few trees on it still about 34m (80') diameter.
Found Neolithic tranchet-type flint arrowhead, finely worked flake on one side, some working on edge of smooth side. Also 2 Neolithic flint scrapers.

1m high 25m diameter east to west, 17.5m north to south, subcircular with flat top.
Truncated by road.

Situated about 350m west of Peddar's Way, on the high ground of former Massingham Heath.
Stands to about 1m high, subcircular about 25m east to west, about 17.5m north to south, truncated by road.
Supports 20 sycamore trees, bracken, brambles, with some grass cover. Ploughing has cut into the east side of the mound.
