Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting at this site has recovered Neolithic flint scrapers and flakes, medieval fragments of pottery and a medieval seal matrix, a long cross coin of Henry III minted between 1247 and 1272 and a French jetton and post medieval pin. This scatter is now part of NHER 31871.

11 March 1990. Fieldwalking and metal detecting.
Neolithic thumb scraper, end scraper and eleven flint flakes
Medieval unglazed handle sherd.
Cut long cross halfpenny of Henry III 1247-1272

Part of large scatter NHER 31871.

1997. Metal detecting.
1) Copper alloy medieval seal matrix, conical handle rising to pierced lozenge-shaped terminal. Circular die with design of a very stylised fleur-de-lis with a border of oblique lines. No legend - privy seal (S1).
2) Early post medieval gilded pin with globular head with four knops around circumference and one on top; collar beneath stout shaft, slightly bent and broken.
