Full description
April/May 1990. Metal detecting.
Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, and medieval metalwork.
See list in file.
Fields as shown on NHER 1953 six inch map now amalgamated.
A. Rogerson (NAU), 11 June 1990.
Up to July 1998. Metal detecting. Amongst modern metal finds.
Late medieval rowel spur, complete (apart from rowel) but very bent. Remains of figure-of-eight terminals, each beyond a bend which suggests that the spur side was originally curved. There is a slight crest where the short neck joins the sides.
Rowel box now very bent, but originally had two pierced convex bosses to hold the bar.
I.D. H. Geake (NCM).
A. Rogerson (NLA), 12 October 1998.
