Summary

Metal detecting in 1989 recovered a Late Saxon brooch, a fragment of a Late Saxon box mount with moulded decoration of an animal, a medieval mount and a possible medieval double disc personal ornament. In 2003 a limited field survey recovered prehistoric flint flakes; a medieval pottery sherd and a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe fragment.

September-October 2003. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey. Extended to whole field [2].
Field survey on proposed route of A47 Blofield to North Burlingham dualling. Single 20m wide strip at northern end of field examined (Transect J).
3 prehistoric flint flakes.
2 ?prehistoric burnt flint.
1 medieval pottery sherd.
1 post-medieval clay tobacco pipe fragment.
1 undatable lead ?molten scrap.
