Summary

In 1985 an Iron Age coin was found during the planting of a juniper bush. It was made of copper alloy and was originally silver plated, although the silver plating does not survive. It was probably minted by the Trinovantes tribe in Essex or the surrounding area.

Full description

Summer 1985. Found in planting juniper bush.
Copper alloy core of silver plated coin, silver gone. Horse, not quite right for an Iceni coin - Tasciovanus? about 10BC.
Identified by A. Gregory (NAU).

Re-identified as probably Trinovantian, Addedomarus or Dubnovellaunus, exact type uncertain.
