This is the site where Sub Prior Mileham and Gysborough were executed in 1537 for opposing the dissolution of Walsingham priory (NHER 2029). Possible human bones were found here in 1954.

Site of execution of sub prior Mileham, and Gysborough in 1537 for opposing dissolution of priory.

June 1954.
Bones (?human) found on east edge in building wall of barn. Probably no connection with executions.

15 January 1980 Visit.
East half of field used as allotments railway line across centre disused.
