Full description

By de Carle after a design by Soane.
Yellow brick, five bays, three storeys, three bay pediment.
Wings of two bays, one storey.
Staircase in apse at rear.
Excellent condition.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 21 January 1978.

(S1) has drawings of carvings dated 1565 from 'Mrs Harris's house at Burnham Westgate', from the 'east and west porches'.
Nothing like this was seen in area, could this be from an earlier hall on this site?

(S2) states that house is supposed to incorporate an older building, although nothing visible survives.
Built by De Carle for Lord Camelford, also an architect.
