Summary
A red brick water tower, built in the 1870s to serve the Sandringham estate. The tower has an ornamental stair turret, with a cast iron spiral staircase, which led to a second floor room used by the Royal Family for enjoying the surrounding views. The water tower has been restored as a holiday home by the Landmark Trust.

Full description
Water tower. Very tall, red brick, mid 19th century.
First two storeys are a caretaker's cottage; above this, a room for Royal hunting parties to picnic in. The stairs to these are carried in an attached cast iron spiral stair turret. Water tank on top floor; flues from fireplaces on floors below go through the centre of the tank to prevent freezing. Ornamented finials etc.
Now preserved by the Landmark Trust, and used as a holiday cottage.

Assessed as worthy to be listed grade II but cannot be listed as property of Royal Family.
