Record Details

NHER Number:14305
Type of record:Monument
Name:Probable medieval moat and medieval to medieval/post-medieval finds

Summary

A concentration of medieval to medieval/post-medieval pottery was recovered from this field in 1978, while metal-detecting between 2014 and 2017 recovered medieval coins, buckles and a strap-end.
The concentration of pottery is surrounded by a rectangular depression in the field, and within this rectangular enclosure can be seen areas of flint rubble. This is probably a medieval moated site, with traces of the building still remaining inside.
