Full description

1978. On ploughed surface.
Butt end of polished flint axe.

2002 to 2003. Metal detecting.
Roman copper alloy lion bow derivative (Rosette) brooch, most of spring, pin, separate foot and possibly a separate 'Rosette' plate missing. Damaged and incomplete spring housing. The bow, a highly abstracted figure of a lion, has two transverse grooves across the middle, between the haunches and the head. Traces of iron rivet on reverse of base of bow. Wingspan about 22mm, surviving length 27mm. Mid 1st century.
