Full description

February 1977. Visit.
40 Bridge Street
(S1) describes this accurately as being the end house of a terrace of three, carstone, brick surrounds to windows and doors, 18th to 19th century, the ground floor being modernised as a cafe, now closed. But high up in the end (west) wall is a block of stone 60cm (2 foot) long by 15cm (6 inches) high, crudely inscribed 'CW 1692', obviously reset. Fair condition.
E. Rose (NAU), 16 February 1977.
