The imposing stone walls, with added towers for catapults, of a Roman 3rd century Saxon Shore fort. Panoramic views over Breydon Water, into which the fourth wall long since collapsed. The fort walls are in the care of English Heritage. The site is managed by Norfolk Archaeological Trust.

Essentials

Situated

At far west end of Breydon Water on unclassified road, 3 miles west of Great Yarmouth. Follow the signposted footpath from the church to the fort. 

Parking

Park near the church or in the Church Farm pub car park nearby (until the new car park is built space is limited). 

Facilities

Dogs allowed on leads.

All year, any reasonable time, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
