Full description

1972. Soilmark of linear feature, note on (S1) by A.K. Gregory (NAU).
This is the edge of a drove or narrow wood marked on (S2).
E. Rose (NAU) 21 July 1980.

Now officially in Martham parish.
E. Rose (NAU) 1987.

April 2005. Norfolk NMP.
As noted above, the boundary, visible as a cropmark and soilmark on aerial photographs (S3)-(S6) between TG 4486 1696 and TG 4526 1741, is, for the most part, depicted on historic maps (e.g. S7) and consequently has not been mapped by the NMP. The northernmost section, visible beyond approximately TG 4520 1733, is not depicted but still has the appearance of being a modern or late post-medieval feature. At the same time, it is notable that the orientation of the boundary is not entirely dissimilar to that of the earlier field systems mapped in the vicinity, i.e. NHER 27331 and 32062.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 19 April 2005.
