Full description

1968. Stray Find.
Found while cleaning ditch:
1 Mesolithic blunted-back flint knife. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1968.307).
Information from (S1).
This discovery was reported in (S2) and is probably the 'miscellaneous implement' from Ingham listed in (S3). This piece is described in (S4) as a 98mm long 'giant knife' and recorded as [?Upper] Palaeolithic rather than Mesolithic.

It should be noted that there is some uncertainty regarding the exact provenance of this find. The approximate grid reference listed on (S1) places it in Sea Palling (TG 4152 2681) and it was previously recorded and mapped as such. This find is however listed in (S2) as being from Ingham and the grid reference given (which is in Ingham) is the same as that which appears in museum's records and (S4).
