Summary

A medieval stone cross at the boundary between the parish of Hellesdon and the City of Norwich. The top of the cross was restored in 1902. The cross was moved in 1982 when the road was widened.

Full description

Norwich Boundary Cross.
Stone carved base on modern flint and stone plinth.
Chamfered stone shaft, surviving to 1.5m (5 feet); above this capital bearing iron cross restored in cement 1902.
Has bench mark cut in south side, and traces of a metal plaque now removed on west.
Stands by roundabout on ring road.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU) 18 May 1977.

Moved in about 1960 when road widened: moved again slightly September 1982; base said to have cracked but may refer to modern plinth.
