Full description

May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Hanginghill Road, Upton with Fishley (S1). The site is centred on TG 3869 1245. The ring ditch is 11.5m in diameter. Two possible pits are visible within the centre and these may be the remains of grave cuts, however it is also possible that it is the fortuitous positioning of natural pit-like features. Another ring ditch is located 250m to the west (NHER 36343). This ring ditch is located within an area of fields and trackways of probable Roman date (NHER 49469).
S. Massey (NMP), 30 May 2007.
