Full description

May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a series of probable post medieval boundaries and drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the immediate south of Back Lane, Upton (S1). The site is centred on TG 3995 1298.
The cropmarks consist of a series of ditches or drains running either parallel or perpendicular to the post medieval field layout. None of these boundaries are marked on the 1839 Upton Tithe map (S2) and therefore may relate to a post medieval layout removed prior to the mid nineteenth century.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 May 2007.
