Railway Farmhouse is a 17th century timber-framed house, with a thatched roof with gabled ends. This two storey building has an attic and an off centre internal brick chimneystack. There is a 19th century gabled porch in front of the chimney stack, with a boarded door and rectangular fanlight, and a later lean-to at the rear.

Railway Farmhouse, Hales Street. Tivetshall St Margaret.
17th century timber-framed house, plastered. Thatched roof with gabled ends. Internal brick chimneystack off centre. Two storeys and attic (attic window in gable ends). Three windows. 18th to 19th century, three-light casements. 19th century gabled porch in front of chimney stack, with boarded door and rectangular fanlight. Later lean-to at rear.
