Summary

In 1953 a Roman flue tile and fragments of medieval brick were recovered in the south-west corner of this field, close to the recorded location of a Roman burial discovered in the 19th-century (NHER 10667) and walls made from reused Roman building material that were observed 2017, during the excavation of a drill pit close to the river (NHER 65139).
Metal detecting in 2004 recovered a Late Saxon disc brooch, a medieval lead weight, a post-medieval coin and a post-medieval belt mount.

1953. Stray Find.
"From site of Roman burial found in 19th century [NHER 10667]":
Roman decorated flue tile fragment.
This object was donated to Norwich Castle Museum, along with fragments of medieval brick that had apparently been recovered at the same site (NWHCM : 1953.202).
