Full description

September-October 2003. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed mineral extraction site. From context 1.
The 37 trenches excavated revealed a limited number of pits and ditches, with the ditches likely to represent two separate field systems (one in the north and one in the south). Both field systems are probably post-medieval.
Features in the south contained late post-medieval pottery. No dating evidence was found in features in the north. Most trenches contained no features or finds.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2007.302).
