August 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval buckle, oval frame with offset bar and ornate outside edge and rectangular section pin hammered to a point. The outside edge is elaborately decorated with a knop at both ends and a flange just within them, and in the centre a slight lip and pin notch between pairs of flanges. 18 x 25mm. A more elaborate version of Dress Accessories no.297, see (S1). 13th-14th century in date.
