Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 2002-03 recovered a selection of metal objects and coins that dated to a variety of archaeological periods. Finds of note included a Late Bronze Age gold penannular ring fragment, a Saxon/medieval sword pommel, a medieval horse harness pendant in the shape of a fleur-de-lys, various parts of an early post medieval dagger and three coins of William III.

December 2002-January 2003. Metal-detecting.
1 Late Saxon stirrup strap mount, 1 stirrup mount and 1 bridle cheek piece (S1).
1 Late Saxon/medieval sword pommel (lobed).
1 medieval horse harness pendant (gilt).
