Summary

An archaeological fieldwalking and metal detector survey undertaken in 2002 recovered several potentially Mesolithic/Early Neolithic worked flints; a small assemblage of later prehistoric worked flints; medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval/post-medieval brick and tile; post-medieval coins and a number of other post-medieval and undatable metal objects.

Full description

October 2002. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey of proposed reservoir site. Contexts 1 to 50 used.
Mesolithic/Early Neolithic flint blades and flakes.
Late Neolithic/Early Iron Age worked flints including 7 retouched flakes, 1 core, 3 hammerstones, 3 scrapers and 1 piercer.
23 medieval pottery sherds.
Medieval/post-medieval brick and tile.
4 post-medieval coins, 2 pottery sherds, 1 mount and 1 button.
