Archaeological evaluations at this site during 2000-01 revealed Late Saxon/early medieval pits, postholes and gullies along with a sherd of Roman pottery. This evidence may indicate that a building was situated here in the Late Saxon to medieval period.

November-December 2001. Trial Trench.
Revealed Late Saxon/early medieval pits, postholes and gullies. Roman pottery sherd also recovered.
