Summary

Metal detecting here in 1998 recovered a variety of metal objects and coins. Finds included a Roman Hod Hill brooch, part of a post medieval double looped buckle frame, a beautiful Early Saxon cruciform brooch and a medieval coin minted in York.

1998. Metal detecting. Site adjacent to NHER 9889. Height OD 25m.
Twelve Roman and two medieval coins.
Roman brooch foot at [1].

Early post medieval fragment of double-looped buckle frame, remaining loop oval. Moulding at pin rest and double moulding either side.
Medieval coin, 1d, illey issuer. Both sides struck with reverse die. York mint 14th-15th century. Identified by J. A. Davies (NCM) 1 June 1998.
