Summary

A scatter of Roman grey ware pottery pieces were recovered from this site in 1997 and 1998. As all the sherds looked very similar, which may suggest that a Roman kiln was located here and that these are the remains of vessels produced here.

1997/1998.
Scatter of Roman grey ware pottery. Several bucketfuls of pottery seen September 1999 by D. Gurney (NLA) at Blackford Hall. All looks very similar, so perhaps a kiln site?
