Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 1997 and 2018 recovered Roman and post-medieval pottery sherds; a medieval coin; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and undated and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated casting waste; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval seal matrix, zoomorphic mount, padlock, rumbler bell, possible lead pencil, brooch, harness pendant and heraldic pendant; a medieval/post-medieval silver finger-ring, knife end-cap, copper alloy ring and weight and post-medieval harness mounts, harness fitting and padlock.

12th to 16th century part of a padlock of Winchester type C. L shaped arm attached to top of case (which appears to have lost its sides); shackle missing. (S1).
Early post medieval solid cast-in-one button with relief decoration of a rosette made up of curving radial lines
?Medieval lead pencil with neatly sharpened point and pierced flattened end. At Winchester lead pencils are found from the 9th century onwards and they were replaced by graphite pencils in the early post medieval period. This one is very well preserved and is probably medieval. (S1).
