Summary

Roman and medieval pottery fragments were recovered from the foundation trench of a new building in 1969. Further building work in 1980 revealed more pieces of Roman pottery and a large quantity of post medieval fragments.

Full description

1969. Foundation trench of new building. Roman greyware, possibly 2nd century.
Medieval sherds including greenglazed, 11th to 14th century.

1980. More buildings erected further to west abutting on this site. Quantities of Roman sherds similar to previous, and much post medieval pottery, but no medieval. Information from source [1].
