Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking here between 1998 and 2005 recovered Mesolithic, Mesolithic/Neolithic and Neolithic worked flints; Iron Age, medieval and post-medieval coins and Early Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Early Bronze Age copper alloy flanged axehead; a Late Saxon stirrup terminal and an unidentified post-medieval object.
A rare Roman metal brooch mould found in this field in 1999 is recorded separately as NHER 34732
