Record Details

NHER Number:33623
Type of record:Monument
Name:Probable Bronze Age round barrow

Summary

A Rapid Earthwork Identification Survey conducted in 1998 recorded the presence of a circular mound on this site. It was approximately 15m in diameter, 0.5m high, and is thought to have been a Bronze Age round barrow. No convincing sign of this mound could be detected at this location on the 0.5m resolution Lidar data. Other mounds were identified to the west and southwest of this location, for example see NHER 61485-61487. Due to potential problems of location with the forest, it is feasible that one of these newly identified mounds are in fact the same monument. However further inspection on the ground would be required to investigate this.
