Incomplete Middle Saxon/Late Saxon strap end with animal head terminal.
Split end missing, below this, object is rather bent and worn, and has 3 slightly irregular ?accidental holes with no decoration visible around. Animal head terminal is better preserved with a pair of ears, some (again unclear) niello/silver inlay in the forehead, 2 dot eyes (with once some inlay) and a rather sweet slightly uptilted (bent?) pointy snout. 9th century.
