Summary

A number of Early Saxon cremation urns and associated artefacts were recovered from this location in 1892 and sometime between 1925-35 an Early Saxon inhumation was also uncovered here.

1892.
Early Saxon cremation cemetery found at this site.

1925 or 1935. Stray find.
Early Saxon inhumation found.
Finds associated with the burial include an Early Saxon wrist clasp (NWHCM: 1956.274.1) and an Early Saxon blue, yellow and red glass bead necklace suspended from two small-long brooches (NWHCM: 1956.274). Information from NMS MODES database. The brooches are discussed in Unpublished Document (S1).
