Summary

Metal detecting in 1996 and 1998 recovered a number of coins from the Roman, medieval and post medieval periods, as well as metal objects from the medieval and post medieval periods, and pottery sherds from the medieval period. This includes a very nice medieval lead window ventilation panel in unusually good uncrumpled condition.

Very nice medieval lead window ventilation panel in unusually good uncrumpled condition. Lozengiform (142 x 109mm) with elaborate openwork ornament; quatrefoil in centre surrounded by tendrils.

Inner disc from a four-disc lead cloth seal. One side blank, the other stamped with Stuart royal arms (1603-1688). Official alnage seal. Loop from an early post medieval double-looped buckle frame, other loop and bar missing. Relief decorated with ?flowers or foliage?, and gilded on front, the outer edge widens to a point.
