Summary

This is the site of Eashby or Ashby Cross according to a source dating to 1629. However, the wayside cross was not shown on a map of 1681 and nothing is now visible. This cross may now be known as 'The Cockrowstone' having been moved to a new location (NHER 9159).

Site of Eashby or Ashby Cross.
Described as in this position on parish boundary by William Hayward 1629, but not shown on map of 1681.
Suggested as the Cockrowstone (NHER 9159) moved from this position; but see also NHER 31545.
