Summary

Metal detecting here during 1995-2008 recovered a variety of objects and coins dating from the Roman to post medieval period. Finds of note included a tiny Late Saxon folding balance, an early post medieval decorated button, a medieval copper alloy seal matrix and sherds of Roman greyware pottery.

Full description

1995. Metal detector find.
Tiny Late Saxon folding balance with pointer and hinged arms, each arm has a suspension loop on the underside at the terminal, and cusped above (unusually decorative), stirrup missing.
