Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1994-2000, and again in 2008, has recovered a variety of metal objects from the Neolithic through to the Post-Medieval period. Finds of particular interest comprised a 16th century silver seal matrix with a swan, a counterfeit halfcrown of Charles I (1644-5), an Early Saxon girdle hanger and a Neolithic flint axe.

1994. Metal detector finds.
Five medieval pennies, one cut halfpenny, one farthing.
Three post medieval coins.

Early post medieval rowel spur, with protruding bosses. Terminals broken off. spherical moulding on rowel 'box'.
