October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A series of interconnected earthworks are visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs (S3). They can also just be determined on Ordnance Survey 1970 aerial photographs (S4). These seem likely to be of approximately medieval or perhaps early post-medieval date). There has also been an earthwork survey carried out of this site (S2). These earthwork banks and ditches appear to form enclosures, terraced (and causewayed) roads and a possible house platform. Also the roads that are evident, seem to coincide to an extent with those shown on (S1). The site is centred at TF9493 4130, and covers an area of about 400m x 220m. As this site fell across two quarter sheets some of the mapping was carried out by Sarah Massey (NLA) for NMP under the adjacent map quarter sheet TF94SE.
H. Clare (NMP), 11 October 2002.
