Summary

Prehistoric flints and fragments of pottery dating from the Iron Age to the post-medieval periods found during fieldwalking in 1994. Metal-detecting between 2010 and 2016 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including a Mesolithic blade, an Early Neolithic blade, a Neolithic retouched flake and Neolithic/Bronze Age notched implement; Roman, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a fragment of Late Iron Age/Roman terret; a Roman brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon Carolingian belt fitting; Late Saxon brooches; a medieval annular brooch, buckles and harness mounts; medieval/post-medieval lead spindle whorl/weight and dress hook and post-medieval crotal bells and a copper alloy clapper bell.
