Summary

Metal-detecting between 1993 and 2012 recovered an undatable polished-edge pebble tool; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and Middle Bronze Age and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include the butt of a Middle Bronze Age palstave; a Late Saxon enamelled gilt copper alloy brooch; medieval buckles, a belt mount, hinge plate, horse harness pendant, horse harness bar mount and part of a purse frame decorated with inlaid niello and a post-medieval book clasp and harness mount.

13th century buckle plate cast relief bird.
Medieval hinge plate.
Post medieval harness mount.
Butt of Middle Bronze Age palstave. Drawing in file.
Medieval purse frame fragment of V-shaped section, terminating in a pierced circular loop for attachment to purse bar. Decorated on front with pair of lines crossing diagonally, inlaid with neillo. Integral holes on reverse for attachment of fabric.
