Summary

Metal detecting here in 1993 and later topsoil stripping in 1997 recorded a number of metal items. These included a Roman mortar terminal in shape of an ox head, a Roman dolphin type brooch and late post medieval and modern coins and metalwork.

Full description

January 1993. Found with metal detector.
Roman centre-looped pestle. Crescent shaped. Casting marks present, (S1).
Roman centre-looped mortar terminal, in shape of an ox head, (S2).
Roman dolpin type brooch.
Roman bow and fantail type brooch. Silvered.
Polaroids (S3) done by NCM.
