Summary

Metal detecting in 1992 recovered a Roman brooch and a fragment of a Roman bracelet, fragments of Saxon brooches, half of a pair of Early Saxon tweezers, medieval harness and strap fittings and other metalwork.

Full description

Before 1992. Metal detecting finds.
Half Early Saxon decorated tweezers. 'Arm' is twisted and silvered or tinned. Wedge and shaped terminal stamped with crescentic stamps. Lovely!
Medieval tiny copper alloy knife end cap. Elliptical incised X on both faces and star on one end.
Medieval copper alloy hooked fastener fragment with rocker arm decoration and openwork in centre.
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM), 14 September 1992.
