Summary

Metal-detecting in 1992 and 2016 recovered a medieval pottery sherd as well as undated, Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated unidentified sheet copper alloy object; a Roman brooch; a Middle Saxon spoon; a Late Saxon Anglo-Scandinavian zoomorphic brooch; a Late Saxon/medieval bit link fragment; Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval leash swivel and brooch; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight and thimble and a post-medieval book clasp, drop handle from a piece of furniture, cloth seal, Jew's harp and a hinged luggage fitting.

September 1992. Metal detecting finds. [1].
Early post medieval convex lentoid belt or harness stud, spike on reverse.
Early post medieval copper alloy book clasp, rings and dot on terminals, and 'graded' linear decoration in centre. Hook at one end.
Late post medieval copper alloy hinged luggage fitting. 'R. H. Gurney - Keswick' inscribed on it.
