Name:Cropmarks of unknown date and multi-period pottery

Summary

The cropmark of a double ditched enclosure of unknown date is visible on aerial photographs. Several other linear cropmarks are probably the remains of medieval or post medieval field boundaries. Prehistoric flints and pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval period has been found by fieldwalking. Metal detecting in 2009 recovered medieval and post medieval coins and metal objects.

Cropmarks visible of double ditched rectilinear enclosure in the northeast corner of the field, the full extent of which cannot be guaged due to the scope of the photograph.
Also to the south of the church are several linear features. These are likely to be old field boundaries and property boundaries from medieval to post medieval activity in Calthorpe.
