Full description

1991. Metal detector find.
14th century bronze circular seal matrix with faceted hexagonal handle, which has a quatrefoil suspension loop and moulded collar. Below handle on reverse on edge of each facet are three punched dots forming a trefoil, and around a border of engraved zigzag ornament. *WACE ME NO MAN, with a curled up (sleeping) lion in centre under a branching stem (the top of which protrudes into the legend band), representing a tree.
