Summary

The site of a medieval moated hall. Nothing remains today, but metal detecting between 1998 and 2003 recovered medieval coins, buckles, pottery fragments and a finger ring. Post medieval pottery fragments and metal objects have also been found.

Full description

Site of Drayton Hall, with moat indicated (Ordnance Survey).
Visited by E. Rose (NAU), 5 July 1978. No trace in field of corn.

2874 context 1 from southeast corner; medieval pottery, and patch of Rhenish lava querns immediately to west, claimed by [1] and in his possession in 1960s.
