Name:Concentrations of multi-period finds

Summary

Fieldwalking on the site of a proposed golf course recovered a large number of finds. These included concentrations of prehistoric burnt and worked flints and scatters of fragments of Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery. The course of an undated flint trackway was identified. Later metal detecting recovered Roman, Early Saxon and medieval metal objects.

1990 to 1991. Fieldwalking survey in advance of golf course development.
Pot boiler sites previously recorded/relocated, and other 'new' sites found.
Major concentration of medieval sherds.
