Summary

Metal-detecting in this area between 1989 to 2014 recovered Mesolithic/Early Neolithic, Neolithic/Bronze Age and undatable prehistoric worked flints; Iron Age, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and jettons and Roman to post-medieval and undatable metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman lock pin; a Late Saxon belt or harness mount with debased Ringerike-style engraving; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval Papal bull, harness stud and spur buckle; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment; post-medieval book clasps, belt or harness mounts, lead cloth seals, a seal matrix and lead weights and an undatable lead weight.

December 1989 to January 1990. Found with metal detector. Found over restricted area.
Four medieval coins as follows.
Two long-cross cut farthings Henry III 1247-72.
Long cross cut halfpenny Henry III 1248-50. No sceptre but legend is HENRIC VS REX III North Class 3 rev: LEM.ON probably Willem London. See (S1).
Long cross penny Henry III 1251-1272 with sceptre. North class 5 rev: RICARD ON LVND. Obv: HENRICVS REX III. See (S1).

Medieval bronze harness stud, shield-shaped and enamelled with two lions rampart and three diagonal bars between. Integral shank. Hooked gilt bronze fitting with two niels. From harness. Hook worn bar with rivets with moulded lobed end.
Short cross penny. Henry III. North Class 7. Moneyer ROBERT, ?Canterbury 1217-8 - 1242. See (S1).
Cut half-penny long cross, Henry III. Moneyer NICOLE 1247-74.
