Summary

Metal-detecting in 1989 recovered a matching pair of Late Saxon stirrup-strap mounts, decorated in a zoomorphic style and probably dating to the 10th to 11th centuries. Late Saxon and post-medieval pottery sherds have also been recovered from this area.

Small find One: Late Saxon box mount, zoomorphic, 10-11th century, (S1)
Two large bellarmine sherds and 1 glazed red earthenware sherd
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU).

Small find Two: Late Saxon box mount, (S2), pair to that previously found and located within yards of the same.
