Summary

In 1930 aerial photographs recorded cropmarks of rectangles and long narrow fields thought to represent a possible Roman settlement. Further aerial photography in 1976 recorded the cropmarks of two sub-rectangular enclosures, several 'Riley' circles, extensive cultivation remains, and multiple pits that may be the remains of Roman turbaries.

1930s.
Cropmarks of rectangles and long narrow fields - Roman settlement?

1 July 1976. Ordnance Survey aerial photography.
Positive cropmarks.
Two sub-rectangular enclosures.
And several 'Riley' circles and extensive cultivation remains and multiple pits? Located in southwest area.

1978. Surface finds.
Thin scatter of Nene Valley Ware (Roman). Found by Ordnance Survey Inspector. They occurred at less than two per sq.m. over an area of about 30m diameter.
